I'm one of those readers who gets on huge genre/category kicks and has to have all of them NOW. Lately, it's been YA contemporary romance. It all started when I picked up Jenny Han's THE SUMMER I TURNED PRETTY (seriously, can't gush enough about this book) and just took off from there. Recommending books is basically my favorite activity ever so I thought I'd share some of my favorite contemporary YA reads in case anyone was looking for a good book. These are in no particular order because trying to rank my favorites basically gives me hives.
THE SUMMER I TURNED PRETTY by Jenny Han (series, summer/beach setting, swoon-worthy romance)
DARE YOU TO by Katie McGarry (my fave of hers but love them all, high school setting, swoon-worthy romance)
SLOPPY FIRSTS by Megan McCafferty (high school setting)
THE FAULT IN OUR STARS by John Green (amazing, bring a box of kleenex)
SPEECHLESS by Hannah Harrington (unique premise, high school setting)
STIR ME UP by Sabrina Elkins (swoon-worthy romance, wounded hero)
ANNA AND THE FRENCH KISS by Stephanie Perkins (gorgeous setting- Paris, boarding school setting)
RUNNING ON EMPTY by Colette Ballard (suspenseful, great friendships)
WILD CARDS by Simone Elkeles (football, summer romance)
NANTUCKET BLUE by Leila Howland (beach setting, summer romance)
SUCH A RUSH by Jennifer Echols (swoon-worthy romance)
Any contemporary YA romances I should add to my list?
